FOB student win medals at MOSWC 2014 contest in US
Two Vietnamese students won bronze medals at the Microsoft Office Specialist Word Championship 2014 (MOSWC) which was held in California, the US, from July 27-30. They are Tran Phuc Duy, 10th grader from Dinh Thien Ly School, who won in the category of MOS PowerPoint 2010, and Tran Minh Tien from the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, who triumphed in the MOS Excel 2010 category.

Tran Minh Tien is a student of Faculty of Banking - Banking University of HCM City (BUH). Being dissatisfied with his achievement as the MOS Excel first runner-up in the MOSWC 2013, Tran Minh Tien has made great efforts to attain higher place in the MOSWC 2014 and gained a ticket in a Vietnam team to the U.S. “I always see studying as a process of absorbing knowledge. Studying is, therefore, not a burden but an interesting journey. When you accumulate knowledge actively and enjoyably, studying is not hard at all. That is my studying method. Moreover, “always challenge yourself” is one of the secrets that helped me to gain success in studying,” said Tran Minh Tien.

This is the 3rd consecutive year Vietnamese students have won prizes at the contest. Last year, Phan Tien Dung, a student from Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, won third prize in the category of Word 2010. MOSWC is an annual competition for hundreds of students worldwide who are keen on Microsoft Office applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. This year, the event attracted 110 teams from the US, India, the Republic of Korea, Vietnam, China, Taiwan, Macau, Laos, and Cambodia.
